The Association of Artificial Intelligence in Latvia (MILA) has officially joined the stakeholder directory of the European Commission's Apply AI Alliance initiative.
The Apply AI Alliance Stakeholders’ Catalogue serves as the European Commission’s central and trusted registry of stakeholders in the field of artificial intelligence. It is used to identify organisations for participation in AI policy-making, thematic working groups, industry consultations, and annual AI Office meetings.
MILA's participation in this strategic catalogue ensures a direct link between the Latvian AI ecosystem and European-level policymakers. This means that the challenges faced by Latvian companies, researchers, and the public sector – including the implementation of the AI Act, regulatory clarity, access to resources, and support instruments – are taken into account at the policy and support program design stage.
Direct advocacy: MILA represents its members and the Latvian AI community in European Commission expert and governance discussions. Participation in annual AI strategy discussions and sector-specific in-depth reviews. Linking the interests of the Baltic and Nordic region with Brussels, promoting the practical implementation of AI and productivity growth in the region.
By solidifying its presence in the Apply AI Alliance stakeholder directory, MILA reaffirms its commitment to act as a neutral and trusted intermediary for the responsible development of artificial intelligence in Latvia and Europe, while strengthening Latvia's voice in European AI policy-making.
